TrillMark is a native Mac app that makes notifications identify themselves — a distinct sound per app, and a colored, labeled on-screen flash you can see, built so Deaf and hard-of-hearing users can rely on alerts entirely by sight. It's made solo, sold once, and everything stays on your Mac. TrillMark gives every Mac app its own notification sound and a colored, labeled on-screen flash — so you know which app notified you, even in silence.
TrillMark is a native Mac app that gives each app its own notification sound and a colored on-screen flash with the app's name drawn on it — a menu-bar blink, a screen-edge band, or a full-screen wash. Built for Deaf and hard-of-hearing users first, every alert can be fully visual. One-time $7.99, and nothing leaves your Mac.
TrillMark makes Mac notifications tell you which app they came from. Give each app its own sound and its own color, and when it notifies you TrillMark plays that sound and flashes the color on screen with the app's name on it — a menu-bar blink, a band along a screen edge, or a full-screen wash. It's built for Deaf and hard-of-hearing users first: every alert can be fully visual, with adjustable brightness and duration, a gentle no-strobe option, and a short log of recent alerts. It reads Notification Center through the macOS Accessibility API on-device and sends nothing anywhere. One-time $7.99, up to three Macs.
The honest angle
If you want a hook rather than a feature list, here's what actually sets it apart:
- You can see which app it was. Give each app a color and TrillMark flashes it on screen with the app's name drawn on it — so it works even if you're color-blind, and even with the sound off.
- Built Deaf / hard-of-hearing first. Every alert can be purely visual, at a brightness and speed you set, with a gentle no-strobe option and a log of recent alerts so one you looked away from isn't lost. Unlike the macOS "flash the screen on alerts" setting — one white full-screen flash for everything — TrillMark tells you which app fired.
- Sounds you can't get from macOS. Clip a few seconds of a song as an alert, right in the app, and boost an important app above 100%, up to 200%, so it cuts through music or a call.
- Solo, pay-once, private. Built by one person, sold a single time with no subscription, and it collects nothing — no account, no analytics, no trackers.
The one comparable app
Chirpy ($19.99) also gives each app its own sound, and does it well — a bigger bundled-sound library, a deeper rule engine, and support for older macOS and Intel Macs. It's sound-only, though: no on-screen visual alert. TrillMark's whole point is the visual side you can rely on without hearing anything, at about half the price. Honest side-by-side: TrillMark vs Chirpy.
