Why Front notifications all blur together on a Mac

macOS plays one alert sound for every notification and only lets you switch an app's sound on or off — never change it. Front's whole point is that the inbox is shared — so its Mac app can speak for your entire team's traffic, and the conversation that was just put in your name pings exactly like one a teammate already has covered.

The volume compounds it: new conversations, replies, internal comments, and @mentions all stream in with the same chime. The one that's actually yours — the assignment, the comment addressed to you — is easy to lose in traffic you're only supposed to be aware of.

What you can do without TrillMark

• Front's notification settings. You can choose which activity notifies you — assignments, @mentions, replies, per inbox — and that's the right first pruning. But it doesn't change how anything sounds on your Mac.
• System Settings › Notifications › Front. Toggle the sound on or off and pick banner vs. alert — but there's no custom sound, and no way to make an assignment sound different from team activity.
• Shift awareness-only traffic elsewhere. Watching shared inboxes by email digest or on mobile keeps your desktop quieter — but whatever still notifies your Mac shares that one chime.
• Do Not Disturb or a Focus. These quiet everything while you concentrate, but that hides the assignment rather than making it recognizable when it does come through.
