Give Zoom its own notification sound on your Mac

So “your meeting is starting” is a sound you can’t miss — not one more identical chime you notice three minutes late.

A full-screen flash in Zoom’s color, labeled — hard to miss from across the room when a meeting is starting.

Why a Zoom alert sounds like everything else

Zoom posts reminders and alerts — a meeting starting, a chat message, someone entering your waiting room — and each one borrows your Mac’s single notification sound. Being three minutes late to a call because it sounded exactly like a Slack ping is a familiar, avoidable problem.

macOS only lets you switch Zoom’s sound on or off, and Zoom’s own settings don’t offer a distinct or louder Mac notification sound.

What you can do without TrillMark

How TrillMark makes Zoom impossible to miss

TrillMark reacts to Zoom’s banner. Add Zoom, give it a loud, distinct sound and a bold color with a full-screen flash — so a meeting starting reaches you even if you’d wandered off or muted your Mac.

Because TrillMark can read the notification and can play a sound above 100%, a rule can make “your meeting is starting” or “someone is in your waiting room” the loudest thing on your Mac, while ordinary Zoom chat stays quiet.

It reads that text only on your Mac, only to decide how to react, and never sends it anywhere.

Set it up in about a minute

  1. Open TrillMark and add Zoom.
  2. Give it a loud, distinct sound and a bold color with a full-screen flash.
  3. Add a rule matching “starting” or “waiting room” and set its volume above 100% so it stands above everything.
  4. Turn off the system sound for Zoom in Notification settings so you hear only the sound you chose.

Questions about Zoom

Can I make Zoom’s meeting reminder louder on my Mac?

Yes. TrillMark can play a sound up to 200% and lets you reserve the loudest tone for a rule that matches a meeting starting, while everyday Zoom chat stays quiet.

Can TrillMark flash the screen when a Zoom meeting starts?

Yes. Alongside the sound, TrillMark can flash the screen full-screen in a color you pick, labeled “Zoom” — useful when you step away from the Mac, or if you’re Deaf or hard of hearing.

Will it also alert me for someone in the waiting room?

Yes, as long as Zoom posts a banner for it. Add a rule that matches the waiting-room text and give it its own sound. The text is read only on your Mac and never leaves it.
